Inequality symbols

The symbols used in an inequality: less than $(<)$, greater than $(>)$, less than or equal to ($$\le$$), and greater than or equal to ($$\ge$$).

The input of a function.

Inconsistent system

A system of equations that have no solution. The slopes of the lines are equal.

Imaginary unit i

The square root of -1. $$i = \sqrt { – 1}$$

Imaginary part

The part of a complex number that is added to the real part. $bi$ in $a + bi$.

Imaginary number

When $$b \ne 0$$ in a complex number, $a + bi$.

i-form

The form used when writing the square root of a negative number using the imaginary unit $i$.
